John Duckworth is a multidisciplinary artist based on Johns Island, SC, whose work spans photography, painting, video, and performance. Best known for his painterly abstract landscape photography of the Southeast coast, his art explores the connection between nature, meditation, and perception. Originally from San Diego, he studied Studio Art at the College of Charleston, and his early interest in science continues to influence his subject matter.

Since 2003, his ongoing Landscape Abstracts series has reflected a meditative dialogue with the natural world. In recent years, Duckworth has expanded his practice to include immersive multimedia works that merge Eastern spiritual practices with Western aesthetics. His art has been exhibited in over 50 shows worldwide and resides in both private and corporate collections. Recognized for shaping Charleston’s creative culture, he continues to create work that invites contemplation and deeper connection.
